Butternut Squash Baby Food Puree
Equipment
- large knife
- cutting board
- spoon or fork
- baking sheet
- food processor
- ice cube trays
Ingredients
- 1 butternut squash
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- cooking spray
- ¼ cup water, breastmilk, or formula
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Spray baking sheet with cooking spray
- Wash butternut squash
- Cut squash in half-length wise
- Scoop out the seeds and “stringy matter”
- Drizzle or brush the flesh side of the squash with olive oil
- Place the squash flesh side down on baking sheet
- Bake for 15-19 minutes or until squash is tender and easily pierced by fork
- Allow squash to cool
- Scoop flesh out and put it in the food processor
- Add 1/8 cup of water, breastmilk, or formula at a time until desired consistency
- Tranfer into trays
