Butternut Squash Baby Food Puree

Equipment

  • large knife
  • cutting board
  • spoon or fork
  • baking sheet
  • food processor
  • ice cube trays

Ingredients
  

  • 1 butternut squash
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • cooking spray
  • ¼ cup water, breastmilk, or formula

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  • Spray baking sheet with cooking spray
  • Wash butternut squash
  • Cut squash in half-length wise
  • Scoop out the seeds and “stringy matter”
  • Drizzle or brush the flesh side of the squash with olive oil
  • Place the squash flesh side down on baking sheet
  • Bake for 15-19 minutes or until squash is tender and easily pierced by fork
  • Allow squash to cool
  • Scoop flesh out and put it in the food processor
  • Add 1/8 cup of water, breastmilk, or formula at a time until desired consistency
  • Tranfer into trays
