Apple Baby Food Puree
Yield: 12 ounces
Materials
- 3 apples
- peeler
- knife
- cutting board
- strainer or slotted spoon
- large pot
- food processor
- ice cube trays
Instructions
- Fill pot about half way with water and bring to a boil*
- Wash and peel apples
- Cut apples into small slices or chunks, removing core and seeds (apple pieces should be able to fit into your food processor)
- Carefully put cut apple into boiling water
- Boil apples for about 15 minutes or until they are very tender and easy to pierce through with a fork
- Remove apples using strainer or slotted spoon and let cool; save some of the water for reserve
- Put apples in food processor until desired consistency; add reserve liquid 1 tablespoon at a time as necessary
- Pour or spoon into trays and put in the freezer
Notes
*You can also bring the water to a boil with the cut apples in the pot
**Add some cinnamon when serving for an added fun flavor (6 months and up)
