Apple Baby Food Puree


Apple Baby Food Puree

Yield: 12 ounces


  • 3 apples
  • peeler
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • strainer or slotted spoon
  • large pot
  • food processor
  • ice cube trays


  • Fill pot about half way with water and bring to a boil*
  • Wash and peel apples
  • Cut apples into small slices or chunks, removing core and seeds (apple pieces should be able to fit into your food processor)
  • Carefully put cut apple into boiling water
  • Boil apples for about 15 minutes or until they are very tender and easy to pierce through with a fork
  • Remove apples using strainer or slotted spoon and let cool; save some of the water for reserve
  • Put apples in food processor until desiredĀ consistency; add reserve liquid 1 tablespoon at a time as necessary
  • Pour or spoon into trays and put in the freezer


*You can also bring the water to a boil with the cut apples in the pot
**Add some cinnamon when serving for an added fun flavor (6 months and up)Ā
