Hey peeps! See what I did there? Happy almost Easter!
Like all holidays and special occasions, we started looking and purchasing gifts for H’s basket awhile ago. Our goals were to steer clear of candy again this year, and instead give him a basket full of fun, educational toys and needed items. Below is our basket for this year (I’ll admit, more than we would normally spend-but it was spread out over time!), last year’s basket, and 10 additional ideas. Enjoy!
- All the dino clothes!
H is growing like a weed all of a sudden and with warmer weather approaching, we thought what better time to get him some new clothes! H has been into dinosaurs for quite some time and it doesn’t seem like it is going anywhere, so we added to his already dino-fied wardrobe. We bought most of his clothes from Carter’s during their “Buy 1, Get 2 Free” sales.
We are so excited to give this set to H! He has the dinosaur set and the animal train set, both of which he loves! Not only do these sets provide your little one with learning and exploration, but they also grow with them! Each set has magnetic bars and balls that are used to build the set (animals, trains, etc.), but can also be used to play and build with by themselves. We highly recommend!
H loves stickers! We recently got him bunny window stickers from Dollar Tree, and let him play with my old stickers I used when teaching. We came across re-useable sticker books at the zoo, and regretted not purchasing them! I found Melissa & Doug re-useable sticker books and ordered them immediately! We are excited to watch H play with them!
4. Snacks!
H loves goldfish, pretzel goldfish, peanut butter crackers, and “curlz.”

Last year, H was almost 6 months old when Easter came around. We got him a toy cellphone, toy remote, washable/wipeable bibs (godsend), a blow up pool, and a sun hat. Picture links are below for the phone, remote, and bibs. The pool was purchased from Five Below and the hat was from a small, local shop.

Additional Ideas:
- Rain boots!
H has these from Carters (different dinosaur design). They are super cute and great quality.
2. Sunglasses!
3. Sun Hat!
H just got this one!
4. Bathing suit!
You guessed it, more dinos for our boy!
5. Flip-flops/sandals!
6. Beach towel!
7. Beach chair!
8. Pool or bath toys!
H’s grandparents recently discussed getting a water table for him. We have all been looking at this one. A water play table makes for a great everyday activity in the summer. This one has sand play, too!
10. And of course, BOOKS!
If you’ve read my post about our favorite books, you know I love Lick! by Matthew Van Fleet. He also has a book called, Sniff! that I am eager to get for H!
What are you putting in your kiddos’ baskets?
xoxo,
Nik
